ABSTRACT

;The current paper presents the considerations of a research focused on the Semiotics of Tourism, with a focus on Interdisciplinarity. Linked to this line of research, an exploratory and interpretativanalysis of the context of artistic-cultural languages present in the cultural spaces surrounding the TeatrAmazonas in the Centro's neighborhood in Manaus is analyzed as an ofler for local tourist practiceThe respective cultural spaces chosen for this research were: "Ateliê 23", "Casarão de Idéias", "Galerido Largo", "Palácio da Justiça", and "Casa das Artes". In this research, an appropriate interdisciplinarity oSemiotic theories was used, in order to analyze how artistic-cultural languages and the cultural spacethemselves in search of understanding the diversity of the local cultural dynamics, Tourism theories iorder to understand new possibilities of studies in the area that involves ways to cover varied oflers tvisitors, theories of Arts that are thought of in the field of culture frequently, seeking to understand theunder tourism studies, theories of Geography with a special understanding of the dynamics present in thterritorial spatiality of a cluster. urban Amazon and finally, Cartography theories to map these phenomena for a better visualization of the artistic aspects and their determined occurrences in the historiccenter of the Amazon capital for a better approach about the problematic presented in this work. Thresults present as varied cultural dynamics that are commonly excluded from the local tourism sectowhen they are absent from tourist maps and itineraries around the city. Illustration methods were useto better address the importance of image in the study of Tourism Semiotics and to present more clearlsome of the artistic-cultural languages present in the historic center of Manaus. After the research, was concluded that there is a great diversity of oflers that are not absorbed by the manauara touristrade that could renew the activities of the tourism field to maintain a greater attention in the urbaspace of the city, generating income for the local community and knowledge deeper understanding of the visitor with the Amazonian culture and arts. © 2022, Universidade de Aveiro. ABSTRACT

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of telework and management control systems (MCSs) on the congruence of civil servant objectives in the Brazilian justice system. Design/methodology/approach: To this end, the authors have carried out a survey with 468 employees of the Ministério Público Federal (Federal Public Ministry), whose data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Findings: Among the main results are the perceived efficiency of telework, and the finding that action and personnel controls are positively related to the congruence of objectives. However, the moderating relationship of the MCSs presented individual characteristics. Action controls showed no evidence of moderating the relationship between the perceived efficiency of telework and congruence of objectives. However, personnel controls showed a significant and negative relationship, that is, more intense personnel controls in telework weakened the congruence of individual objectives with those of the organization. Practical implications: This study contributes to practice by identifying barriers and facilitators in organizational telework programs and also spotting how controls can be planned for their activities. Originality/value: The authors’ research evaluates the effect of MCSs on the relationship between the perceived efficiency of telework and the congruence of employee objectives, considering that the telework regime is in its initial phase of implementation in public entities, but this has been intensified by the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. © 2022, Edicreia Andrade Dos Santos, Jonatas Dutra Sallaberry and Alcindo Cipriano Argolo Mendes.

ABSTRACT

Social isolation, resulting from coping with the contagion of the new Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), has generated many changes in work processes and teaching. This study investigates the experiences of Accounting students with remote education implemented by a federal higher education institution in the Brazilian Midwest region during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, and the effects on their interest and satisfaction with the classes. The sample comprised 102 students, who answered the questionnaire with closed and open questions, whose data were treated with the techniques of Structural Equations and Content Analysis. The results showed that it is necessary for teachers to seek different teaching methodologies and different information and communication technologies (ICTs) to reproduce a face-to-face class in a virtual learning environment and for the student to have greater interest and satisfaction. Furthermore, it was identified that most students were unaware of the dynamics of the remote teaching modality, which generated numerous doubts and fears, and reflected in their experiences with the interactions between teacher-student and student-student, which significantly interfere in the learning process, therefore, in the interest and satisfaction of the student.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to highlight the efforts made by the Brazilian Courts of Accounts (CAs) during the COVID-19 pandemic to collaborate with its jurisdictional authorities, civil servants, and society to face its effects. Descriptive and qualitative research was carried out, analyzing the legislation issued by the CAs to evaluate their actions. Among the findings, it was observed that the CM took administrative and pedagogical measures to protect the public, such as the suspension or restriction of face-to-face service. Also, the courts suspended collective events, face-to-face meetings, and travel, adopted telework, limited expenditures and distance learning courses. Among the procedural measures, Plenary Sessions or Chambers, procedural deadlines, and remittance of accounts were suspended. Finally, the activities of guidance and monitoring were conducted under a series of guidelines and recommendations created collaboratively with other agencies and branches of government, guiding public spending, the acquisition and contracting of services with no bidding requirements, among other procedures. It is concluded that the set of measures implemented by the CAs shows a change in the traditional status of subsequent control of public accounts - which gives rise to punitive action - for prior and concurrent control, with recommendations, inspections, and monitoring, when the manager still has instruments to amend errors and avoid waste and misapplication of public resources.
